We designed this show to have a "traditional" look to it. |
The handpuppets will have sewn fabric heads that will later be painted. Here, Peter has made patterns for the heads and hands of some of the puppets. He has traced them onto cotton fabric. |
Peter cut, sewed and turned all of these hands for the puppets. This used to be Debbie's job, but after 20 years she can't stand to do another hand! |
Now it's getting interesting. The fabric heads are stuffed with fiberfill, neck tubes inserted and ears sewn on. updated March 29, 2011. |
The fox head and
hands have been painted. Peter has been experimenting with a new kind
of finish that gives a shine to some of the puppets. He won't use
it on all the characters, just a few that he wants to emphasize.
He's posed the head on the fabric that he's thinking of using for
the costume of the fox puppet. updated April 11, 2011 |
Here are some of the
heads, the same ones as in the above photo, after they've been painted.
What a difference a little paint can make! updated April 11, 2011 |
Same heads with hair and hats. Now these puppets are developing personality, aren't they? updated April 12, 2011 |
The cow has her hat and her costume fabric has been selected. She is going to be "udderly" fabulous. updated April 24, 2011 |
